NAR-10 (also known as CS/LR-14) automatic rifle is a recent development of the Chinese state-owned NORINCO corporation. It is intended to compete with more expensive 7.62 NATO automatic rifles (such as FN SCAR-H or HK 417) on third world markets. NAR-10 or CS/LR-14 automatic rifle is based on proven and tested 7.62×39 mm Type 81 assault rifle, with basic construction stretched and strengthened to fire noticeably more powerful 7.62 NATO ammunition.

NORINCO NAR-10 / CS/LR-14 rifle is gas operated, select-fire weapon. It uses short stroke gas piston, located above the barrel, with manual gas regulator that has two working positions and a cut-off position to fire rifle grenades from the muzzle. Barrel is locked using conventional rotary bolt. Receiver is made from stamped steel, and top cover is hinged at the front to provide more stable platform for sighting equipment. Shoulder stock folds to the right. Standard sighting equipment includes HK-style rear drum with several apertures, and a protected front sight above the gas block. Additional sights (red dot, telescope, night) can be installed on Picatinny rails running atop the receiver top cover and forend. Three more accessory rails are provided on either side and below the polymer forend.
